KingCaire construction recently completed the facade restoration of a nineteenth century Victorian row house in Northwest DC. The imposing, two-story brick row house had been modernized some years previously, and the new owners wanted to restore the facade to its period-correct look in order to blend in with the historic neighborhood. Many older homes have a small galley-style kitchen separated from the dining room by a wall. This configuration is inconvenient and inefficient. What’s more, these dining rooms seldom ever get used. The cabinets and fixtures in such kitchens can be hopelessly outdated, and storage space can be sorely lacking.
